Operation Christmas Child is a project of Samaritan's Purse, an international Christian relief and evangelism organization headed by Franklin Graham. The mission of Operation Christmas Child is to demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way to children in need around the world, and together with the local church worldwide, to share the Good News of Jesus Christ. Since 1993 Operation Christmas Child has collected and delivered more than 168 million shoeboxes to children in over 160 countries and territories. For many of these children, the gift‑filled shoebox is the first gift they have ever received.
Fellowship Baptist Church is proud to have been a part of this ministry since 1998 (our first collection was 15 boxes), becoming a Drop-off Site in 2011. So far this year, we have collected 650 boxes.
Collection Week is November 18-25 Click here for the drop off times.
Operation Christmas Child shoebox gifts lead to evangelism, discipleship, and the multiplication of believers and churches. Every box is just a tool to bring the Gospel to a hurting world. Boxes are distributed worldwide, even in the US in areas of disaster and trauma. Each box contains the Greatest Gift - a Christmas message in their own language. After the distribution the children are encouraged to attend a 12 week study called the Greatest Journey.
Upon completion of the Greatest Journey they receive a Bible and certificate and are ready to share their newfound love for Jesus with their friends and family.
